From Agadir, With Heritage: The Sacred Roots of the Argan Tree

Agadir: Birthplace of the Argan Tree

In the heart of southwestern Morocco lies Agadir, a coastal region framed by the Atlantic and protected by the High Atlas Mountains. It is here, and only here, that the Argania Spinosa tree naturally grows. Known as the “Tree of Life” by locals, this ancient species has supported communities for centuries—its fruit yielding one of the world’s most precious oils: argan oil.

At Arganosa, we source our oil exclusively from Agadir’s local cooperatives—a region recognized by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve due to its ecological and cultural significance.

Did you know? It takes approximately 40 kilograms of argan fruit to produce just one liter of pure oil.

Moroccan Heritage in Every Drop

What makes argan oil from Agadir exceptional isn’t just the terroir—it’s the people. Every bottle of 100% pure argan oil carries the story of tradition, skill, and dignity. Our partnerships with female-run cooperatives ensure that ancestral techniques are preserved while empowering the very women who carry this knowledge forward.

A portion of our revenue is reinvested into community-led initiatives focused on education, fair wages, and better working conditions. Each purchase becomes a meaningful contribution to preserving Moroccan heritage and supporting social progress.

Sustainability that Goes Deeper

In an industry saturated with buzzwords, Arganosa stands for substance. Our oil is organic-certified, cold-pressed, and cruelty-free. Our packaging is UV-protective, recyclable, and produced in collaboration with responsible, eco-aware partners.
